A Bit About Me
Hailing from the suburbs of Austin, Texas, Casey took a nontraditional path to his current role. In his early adult years, he worked in the service industry and earned an Associate of Applied Science in Commercial Music Management from Austin Community College. During this time, he recorded demo tracks for local bands and spent several years booking live music performances. Choosing not to pursue a lifelong career in music or hospitality, Casey returned to school, eventually transferring to Texas State University, where he double majored in Wildlife Biology and Resource & Environmental Studies. After graduating, he worked as a Wildlife Specialist Manager in Integrated Wildlife Management, where he not only achieved personal success but also developed and implemented management practices that were adopted company-wide. In June 2022, Casey left the company to deepen his expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), earning an Enterprise GIS Certificate from Bootcamp GIS. He now serves as the GIS Specialist and Indigenous Sentinels Network Project Coordinator with the AITRC, where he integrates geospatial tools with ecological research and Indigenous-led stewardship.
