These projects involve moose browse enhancement activities as part of efforts to protect tribal communities from wildfire. AITRC also plans to monitor treatment areas to evaluate the impact of fire protection and browse enhancement on increasing moose habitat and resulting impacts on moose movements and populations.

 

AITRC is also pursuing a partnership project to monitor moose habitat before and after a planned controlled burn in order to scientifically assess the impact on moose production recognizing also the potential impacts to caribou habitat.
